1. The Service

Majordomy is a private household coordination tool. It helps invited people share tasks, routines, schedules, shopping, notices, and related household information. The Service is provided for personal household use, not as a public social network or a general workplace platform.

Majordomy is invitation-based. You may create a household or join one only with a valid invitation or registration code, or as otherwise permitted by the Service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract and must provide accurate account information. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or household owner who is responsible for the account.

You are responsible for your password, authenticator, backup codes, and devices. Tell a household owner and change your password if you believe someone else can access your account. Do not share invitation codes except with the intended recipient.

3. Households, roles, and content

Each household is a private workspace. Owners control invitations, roles, and much of the household configuration. Members and staff see the information their role allows.

You retain rights in content you submit. You grant Majordomy a limited license to host, process, transmit, translate, and display that content solely to operate the Service for your household. Owners and other members may also see, edit, or delete content according to their permissions.

Households may include information about children or household staff. Owners are responsible for having any consent needed to record that information and for how it is shared inside the household.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Majordomy to break the law, harass anyone, upload malware, probe or disrupt the Service, scrape other households, impersonate another person, or attempt to access an account, household, or file you were not invited to.

We may suspend or close an account, revoke an invitation, or freeze a household if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or that the Service or other users are at risk.

5. Notifications and third-party services

If you enable notifications, Majordomy may send emails, in-app notices, and push messages about tasks, reminders, invitations, and security events. You can change device notification settings in the app and on your phone.

Sign-in with Google, email delivery, hosting, and similar features rely on third-party processors. Their terms also apply to those features. Majordomy is not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Majordomy available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change. We may update these Terms; the updated date will change, and continued use after an update is acceptance of the new Terms. If a change is material, we will try to provide reasonable notice through the Service or by email when we can.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Majordomy is a coordination aid, not a substitute for professional care, employment advice, or emergency services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of Majordomy is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or household disruption, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim or (b) twenty-five U.S. dollars (US$25). Some places do not allow these limits; there, they apply only to the extent allowed.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. A household owner may revoke access. We may suspend or end access as described above. Provisions that should survive termination — including licenses already exercised, disclaimers, and liability limits — will survive.

9. Contact and governing language

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the household that invited you or to the operator of Majordomy at majordomy.com. The English version of these Terms governs if a translation differs.
